You Ask – I Answer
WHICH THERAPEUTIC APPROACH DO YOU USE?
I use a psychodynamic and a cognitive behavioural approach. I understand no two individuals are the same, and I tailor our sessions together to address challenges unique to you. We will work together to understand the root cause of your struggles, and address those issues with long-lasting support, helping you to develop the skills to overcome whatever challenge you face and get a more fulfilling, healthier, and happier life.
CAN I FEEL BETTER RIGHT AWAY?
People have many different motivations for coming to psychotherapy and knowing if therapy is right for you can take some time and some self-reflection. Some people begin to feel better as soon as they make their appointment or at the time of their first session, and others may take longer. You can feel a sense of relief, sometimes just after the first session, because you make the commitment to address an issue that is problematic. Therapy is a very unique process, that will help you to actively look at yourself and your life situations in a very deep and honest way, and to make changes toward a more meaningful and balanced life.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
Because each person has different issues and goals, this answer varies from person to person. Some issues only take fewer sessions, others issues can be more complex and can take months. However, at the first session we will talk in-depth about what your goals and expectations are, how frequently and consistently you can attend sessions, and I will give you an estimate of how long it will take based on your specific circumstances.
